8 Months Old

Ava is now 8 months old. Her new favorite food is Puffs...the little cereal things that instantly dissolve in your mouth. I decided to make an 8 out of the puffs and take her picture. You can see that the 8 didn't last, but you get the point. Ava can officially crawl now. She's been creeping around like an inchworm for a while, but Saturday she crawled just a few steps. She's done a little more each day and today she is actually crawling everywhere, inching very little. She's still sleeping and eating well, but she has a small ear infection right now which has made her a little grumpy and interrupted her (and my) sleep the past few nights. Oh, and she is pulling up on EVERYTHING now. We had to lower her crib a few weeks ago because she was trying to climb out! She loves to climb and explore and has gotten stuck in some weird places recently. She's really turning into a fun kid!

Ava in Bible Class

Ava loves going to Bible class. She has three wonderful teachers who sing and play with her, so she is happy. They always say how good and observant she is, and how smart she is because she anticipates what comes next. She does get mad, though, when they take away the toys!

Our Yard...Continued....

So there are benefits to having a dad and brother in the construction industry. Jacob has brought a crew down and is pouring a back porch, driveway, and front sidewalk for us. Here is what has been done so far.

Spring Break

I've been avoiding the world of blogging. Why? I'm not sure. So, here's what we've been up to...

Last week was Spring Break for Micah, though he didn't get much of a break. He worked every day getting ready for the Houston Stock Show and Navarro County. Thursday he finally had some time so we made a quick trip to Paris to visit with his family. Then he had to come home to go to Houston and Ava and I went to Lone Oak for the weekend. Monday morning my mom had lung surgery so Jacob and I went to the hospital while Ava stayed and played with Aunt Jo. I wasn't feeling so hot, so we left and went back to Corsicana, where I proceeded to become VERY sick. I had a stomach virus or food poisoning or something, whatever it was it was bad! I didn't eat anything, and drank very little, for 3 days. My friend Lanette was a lifesaver and watched Ava for me on Tuesday while I was sick (it's on her blog-check it out-Penguinette under "Blogs We Read") and Micah's parents came down and stayed Tuesday night and Wednesday. They took Ava to the Expo and I know she had a blast. Thursday I was feeling much better and started eating again-yeah! Micah has been super busy with the Expo and we are ready for it to be over! Hopefully things will slow down some after that and we can start finishing our home renovations!

Our Yard

Micah, Jacob, and one of Micah's students worked in the yard Saturday and tore out EVERYTHING! You can see the large brush pile that was once our yard, the front and back of our house now, and the last picture is what our house used to be!

7 Months Old

The pictures here are all out of order cuz blogger is acting weird. Oh well. I'm a little late at this post, but Ava is now seven months old! It is hard to believe. She is eating and sleeping well, and loves to play and loves attention! She's working on crawling, but not quite there yet. As you can see from the pictures, she can do a great plank and downward dog, and loves to watch TV with her Dad. Her favorite toys include the cell phone, the remote, paper, and of course the computer.
