Easter Saturday

This year we had our Easter dinner and egg hunt on Saturday since we weren't sure about the weather Sunday. We went to Grandmama and Papa's house with all the other cousins and had a great time.

Little Red Wagon

As one of Ava's Easter presents, my parents got her a little red wagon. It's really cool because it has seats and seat belts and a canopy. Ava loved riding in the wagon, and so did Zoey and Maddie (hint hint to their grandparents-would be a great wagon for church camp!) Ava looked like Cleopatra lounging in her wagon, we're thinking about adding some fringe to the canopy. We also tried to hook the wagon up to the golf cart but decided we might need to wait until Ava is older to try that!

Bluebonnet Pics

We went to Papa Jack and Grammy's house for Easter this year and had to take our picture in the bluebonnets. Ava was more interested in eating them instead of smiling for the camera. While we were taking pictures our camera died so more Easter pictures will come later!!

Our Yard...Almost Done...

So the concrete is done, and we've got some new topsoil, also. The house looks so much better and we are enjoying the outdoor space. Ava loves to go outside and ride in her new wagon up and down the driveway. Our house looks different than these pictures, now, because Micah took off the shutters-he is building us some nice new cedar shutters-and he pressure washed the brick-it looks so much better. We need to paint the trim between the house and the roof now. We can't decide what color works best though, so if you have any ideas, let us know!!

8 Months Old

Ava is now 8 months old. Her new favorite food is Puffs...the little cereal things that instantly dissolve in your mouth. I decided to make an 8 out of the puffs and take her picture. You can see that the 8 didn't last, but you get the point. Ava can officially crawl now. She's been creeping around like an inchworm for a while, but Saturday she crawled just a few steps. She's done a little more each day and today she is actually crawling everywhere, inching very little. She's still sleeping and eating well, but she has a small ear infection right now which has made her a little grumpy and interrupted her (and my) sleep the past few nights. Oh, and she is pulling up on EVERYTHING now. We had to lower her crib a few weeks ago because she was trying to climb out! She loves to climb and explore and has gotten stuck in some weird places recently. She's really turning into a fun kid!

Ava in Bible Class

Ava loves going to Bible class. She has three wonderful teachers who sing and play with her, so she is happy. They always say how good and observant she is, and how smart she is because she anticipates what comes next. She does get mad, though, when they take away the toys!

Our Yard...Continued....

So there are benefits to having a dad and brother in the construction industry. Jacob has brought a crew down and is pouring a back porch, driveway, and front sidewalk for us. Here is what has been done so far.

The guys are here today finishing up, so I will post more pictures later.
